We Follow The Six-Step Process, Set By The Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB)*
At Athena Wealth, financial planning follows the internationally recognised six-step process set by the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB). It’s a collaborative process in which Sumita, your financial planner, considers every aspect of your financial situation before recommending strategies:
Establishing our relationship. Sumita explains how the planning process works, the services Athena Wealth offers, her experience, and any conflicts of interest. Together you agree on the scope of the engagement in writing before any work begins.
Getting to know you. Sumita confirms your goals and gathers the financial details and documents needed, along with an understanding of your values, attitudes, expectations and past experiences with money.
Assessing your financial position. Sumita analyses whether your current situation supports your goals and identifies any gaps or additional resources you may need.
Developing and presenting your plan. Sumita considers the strategies available to you, discusses any goals that may need adjusting, and presents her recommendations along with the reasoning and assumptions behind them, so you can make informed decisions.
Putting the plan into action. You and Sumita agree on priorities and who is responsible for each step, and she identifies suitable products or services to implement the recommendations.
Reviewing your progress. You agree on how and when your plan will be reviewed, so it can be updated as your circumstances, goals, or the economic and regulatory environment change.
